“A man who has friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24
Have you ever had a loyal friend; a best friend but seasons in life have either drawn you closer together or even caused you to drift apart? Have you ever had a friend that has disappointed you, let you down even or maybe you’ve done the same? Are you able to relate? I can say I’ve been on both ends of the spectrum. I’ve been disappointed, let down and I’ve also disappointed and let down others. Never intentionally but it’s happened in my life.
Jesus is the Friend which sticks closer than a brother for those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior. He is faithful, He is constant, He is loyal, He listens, He prays for us, intercedes (stands in the gap in prayer), He fights for us, He rejoices over us, He believes in us, He loves us, never leaves us, He never forsakes us. When we reject Him, He is there. When we hide, He is there. When we cry, He is there. When we rejoice, He is there. When we mourn, He is there. When we are hurting, He is there. When we are celebrating victories, He is there. When we tell others about Him, He is there. When we worship, He is there. When we die, He’ll be there. For those who are in Christ, will live with Him forever more. For those who have chosen a life apart from Christ, will spend eternity apart from Him.
But there is good news! He can be your friend today and forever more. “This is the Word of faith that we preach: that is you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says “whoever believes in Him will not be ashamed.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is generous toward all who call upon Him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”” Romans 10:9-13
2 Corinthians 6:2 says today is the day of salvation. I’m praying you’ll welcome my Best Friend, Jesus to also be your Friend today. God bless you.
