Guard Your Heart

“Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23

The heart is a tender organ. If not the most delicate. Hearts can mislead us, they can be misguided, they can be wounded and broken. The world tells us to “follow our hearts” but the word of God says that the heart is deceitful above all things. It is the heart that no one sees but God does. He judges the heart and it is in our hearts that we sin against God. If we’re not careful, our hearts can lead us away from the will of God and into a sinful lifestyle. Guard your heart. Place your heart into God’s hands. Leave it in His hands because in His perfect time, He will lead you to the one that is worthy to care for it this side of heaven. Ladies, don’t give your heart to just anyone and don’t settle for being second. You’re priceless. Gents, don’t settle for a woman who only looks at the car you drive and the money you make but overlooks who you are within. Wait for a person of quality. A woman of virtue, a man of honor. Wait on the Lord for that someone that you can let the guards down and just be yourself. Sometimes the person your heart desires isn’t the one God has for you. Sometimes the one you never considered is the one being prepared for you. Trust God, He knows what He is doing.
