He’ll Leave The Ninety-Nine

“For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” Matthew 18:11-14

At church today, we sang a song named “Reckless Love”. The lyrics to this song wrecked me. I was so reminded of how God’s love pursued me even when I didn’t want to be found. He found me. When I was living in my rebellion, He pursued me. When I blamed Him for many things in my life, He fought for me.

Today, I am thankful that He never stopped loving me and pursuing me. He found me and transformed me. I’m thankful He found me that day many years ago when I thought I could do life just fine without Him. What I love most about Him, is that He knew I couldn’t do life without Him so He never gave up. Thank You, Jesus for leaving the ninety-nine and going after me. My desire is to live my life to glorify Your name and Yours alone.

Just as He pursued me, there are some reading this that have turned away from Him, denied Him, rejected Him. Yet, He is still in loving pursuit of you. He is recklessly in love with you.

“When I was Your foe, still Your love fought for me. You have been so so good to me. When I felt no worth, You paid it all for me. You have been so so kind to me. Oh the overwhelming, never ending reckless love of God. Oh, it chases me down; fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine. I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still You give Yourself away. Oh, the overwhelming, never ending reckless love of God.”

Listen to this song if you can. I believe it’ll bless you. Reckless Love by Stephanie Gretzinger.
