“Those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalm 9:10
Surrender: To give-up or hand over.
Have you ever held on to something you knew you should let go of? Whatever it may be, do you remember that feeling when you let it go and placed it into the hands of the person that it belonged? Did you feel relieved? Sometimes that can be the case with our thoughts, our hopes, dreams, our desires, visions, maybe even family and friends.
I can speak from experience when I say that there have been several things in my life I’ve had to surrender to Jesus because they’re secure in His hands. My son, my ministry, my calling, my heart, my desires, and the list goes on. I can rest knowing that whatever I do which brings glory to God will flourish in His hands. My son will become the man God has destined him to be so long as he is in His hands. My ministry will bless others and give glory to God when it is in His hands. One day, even my marriage will be exactly what God designed it to be so long as it’s in His hands. My life as a whole will glorify the King and it will give testimony to what happens when we surrender all to Jesus.
I’ve learned the act of surrender. Surrendering all of me, to Him. Not knowing the final outcome but trusting His plan is better than mine. I’m better because of it. I have peace because I obeyed. I trust Him will all of it. I have faith that everything I’ve given to Him, will be perfected in His time; made as it should be.
I don’t know what you need to surrender today to Jesus but I encourage you to seek His face that He may show you. Then, simply close your eyes and surrender. All that is good and all that is challenging. He will see you through. Rest in Him.
