Cast Your Cares

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:13

It’s so easy to get caught up with thinking about everything that needs to be done. You know, that mental checklist of things to do (i.e., kids, school, work, bills, etc.). We can get so caught up and be consumed by these things that we leave little room for time with the Lord. Mentally. Let me explain. We may sit quietly in His presence in hopes to spend that much needed time with Him but our minds are like I95 or I4. Does that make sense? There is bumper to bumper traffic in the mind.

I don’t know about you but I can admit it’s happened to me. Most recently, today. Then comes that moment where God says “I desire to spend time with you but everything you should give to Me and leave in My hands; you’re carrying. This doesn’t allow us to truly enjoy Our time together. Give it (whatever that “it” is, to me). I can take care of it and I can take care of you. I want to give you My peace, joy, strength and power if you just give Me your cares.” Every have those moments? The ones that bring you back to the reality that you need to daily leave it all in His hands?

I was reminded of this today as I was spending time with the Lord. Though I was physically present for our appointment; I was in “traffic” mentally until He so lovingly reminded me to be present in every aspect and then told me how to do that.

So now I’d like to encourage you. Cast your cares on Him. Let your time with Him be special; leaving your burdens in His hands because He promises to never let the righteous be moved.

May you have a blessed day!
