Remaining Faithful and Trusting God’s Timing

When Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, the Lord directed him to take them on the path which led to the Red Sea…. On one side, you have the Egyptians closing in on the Israelites and on the other side you have the Red Sea. It’s safe to say the Israelites were backed into a corner. What they didn’t know was that God had a plan. Pharaoh (the enemy) thought he was going to destroy the people of Israel and the Israelites thought they reached the end. But God! He made a way out of no way. So that He alone would get the glory. Moses told the children of Israel, to be still and see the salvation of the Lord (Exodus 14:13). At the Lord’s instruction, Moses lifted the rod and stretched out his hand over the sea and divided it and the seas parted for the people of Israel to make it through to the other side and escape the enemy. The enemy did not expect the sea to split and then close in on them as they pursued the children of God. Not only did God part the Red Sea but He destroyed the enemy. The people of Israel got to victory and the glory went to God. He made a way out of no way. They saw the Salvation of the Lord and held reverence to God and trusted in Him.

The same is true for situations in our lives. Sometimes the Lord will allow us to be backed into a corner at which time we might feel like everything that can go wrong, does go wrong but then God shows up. I believe that God wants us to BE STILL and see the salvation of the Lord. Often times, we grow weary too soon before the Lord shows up like a mighty rushing wind to save.

Maybe you’re experiencing a Red Sea situation in your life. Are you believing God to show up on your behalf in a way that far exceeds what you can ask or imagine or are you ready to throw in the towel and give up? Maybe you’ve decided to settle for less than God’s best for you? Know that if God moved in favor of the Israelites, He’ll do the same for you if you’re a child of God. Not only is He more than able but He is gloried when He makes an impossible situation; possible. The outcome can be credited to no one BUT Him. Remember, He does not share His glory with another.

Name the Red Sea in your life you’re currently facing, call it by name and believe in faith that God will make a way out of no way because faith and trust in Him is all you have left. Believe you will see the salvation of the Lord. You need only to be still. When you’ve exhausted all your natural options and you’re hanging on by a sliver of hope to what He promised; God WILL show up in your favor. He will fight for you.

Don’t forget in the valley what God promised on the mountain top.

God IS faithful and He will fight for us! We need only to be still and trust in Him and His timing.

“The Lord is my Strength and my Song; and He has become my Salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. The Lord is a Man of War, the Lord is His name.” Exodus 15:2-3
