Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoices over the future [the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it]! She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness [giving counsel and instruction]. She looks well to how things go in her household, and the bread of idleness (gossip, discontent, and self-pity) she will not eat. [I Tim. 5:14; Tit. 2:5.] Her children rise up and call her blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied); and her husband boasts of and praises her, [saying], Many daughters have done virtuously, nobly, and well [with the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness], but you excel them all. Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain [because it is not lasting], but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised! Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates [of the city]! [Phil. 4:8.] (Proverbs 31:25-31 AMP)
We were chosen with a purpose; to nurture and love the young ones God has given us. Some days bring its greatest challenges and some days go by as smoothly as a warm spring breeze on the beach in the evening.
They hurt, we hurt, they cry, we cry. No one will ever understand your heart for them. Sleep becomes nonexistent for some time and we replace “I” with “he/she/them”. We are their greatest fans and their number one supporters.
We strive to see them succeed in all they do. We support their dreams and desires and we encourage them to be the best they can be.
We train them up in the way they should go so that they may never depart from it. We do our part, God does His.
We discipline them because we love them. They might not understand now but when they’re our age; they’ll thank us for it.
We pray for godly friendships and relationships and ask God to sever all ungodly relationships from their lives. We declare the promises of the Bible and we pray for their spouses now.
They are gems. They make us better. We learn to love through them; we learn to be better. They change life and add such value to it. They are our greatest blessings and what an honor to have the God of all creation trust us with their very lives.
May we model a relationship with God and do it well. May we lead by example, forgive the unforgivable and love without limits. May we always love them through the love of God because after all, He entrusted us to care for them and may we show Jesus to our children first because ministry begins at home.
God bless you and may the love of Jesus pour into your lives and spill onto that of your children ~always!
Happy Mother’s Day!
