Wherever God has placed you – whether it be at the school you attend, the neighborhood you live; the place you work; it’s a mission field. We are soldiers for the Kingdom of God on a mission to touch lives, make a difference, love and lead people to Jesus.
See, Christianity isn’t only about us once we get saved. It’s about others. What do I mean by that?
Wherever God has placed us, there is a reason for it.
Sure, our lives will be impacted (either directly or indirectly) but it’s about those who need just like we do. Whether they need a Word from the Lord, a helping hand, correction, a hug, a prayer, a hand to hold, an accountability partner, etc. It’s not about us, it’s about serving others because when we do, we are serving Christ as Jesus said in Matthew 25:40.
Yes, at first, it can be intimidating to step up and step out in obedience to what the Holy Spirit is prompting us to do. But if we spend time drawing closer to Him, we will gain confidence knowing that it is not us who speaks but rather, it is He that speaks through us.
The Christian life isn’t supposed to be lived in a bubble – so to speak – only discussing the gospel among other believers but rather, we are to be bold, go out and make disciples, just as Matthew 28:19 tells us, we are to love like Jesus did as stated in John 13:34-35 and also correct in love as Galatians 6:1 tells us to do.
No matter the need or assignment, we need to walk in obedience and walk closely with the Lord. Let’s ask the Lord to create in us a clean heart as Psalm 51:10 says, let our spirits be in tune with the Lord’s and let us be separated from all things that hinder our walk, delay us from moving in our calling and overall prevent us from being used by the Author of life.
God sets up the appointments, we just need to be willing vessels, ready to be emptied and filled with Him to be used for His glory. We are His hands, His feet, His voice, His eyes – we are the Body of Christ.
Let’s position ourselves to be used!
We will never be used too early or too late. It will always be at just the right time. We just need to be prepared as the bible tells us “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching” 2 Timothy 4:2.
Please share with someone who needs a reminder that we are called to serve, not be served – just as Jesus did!
The beauty in it, is that when we serve, God sends others to bless us. 🙂 Glory to God in the highest for He is always faithful!
