God is good. No, He’s more than good; He’s amazing! For a few days now I’ve felt like the closer I’ve drawn to the Lord, the more I’ve asked Him to empty me and use me as a vessel for His glory, the more “weird” people perceive me to be. The more of a “Holy Roller” I’m viewed as.
For a long time I had a very low self-esteem because I was trying so hard to meet the standards others had of me. I wasn’t able to fit their mold no matter how much I tried to please the world.
When I see the awesome and amazing things God is doing in my life, I can’t help but be overjoyed. I can’t help but be thankful that He’s taken me down the path I’m currently on. Yes, I’ve cried many tears, yes, I battled depression, yes, I have been broken and molded, then broken again, and molded differently the next time around by the Potter but I am oh so thankful that my Father has never ever once left me as I was. He’s grown me spiritually. He makes me better every day, every season, every trial I’ve endured has grown me closer to Him. Every painful experience in my life has allowed for a platform to share with others experiencing similar trials assuring them that this too shall pass. If I was able to get through it, I know they can too.
Jesus says in Luke 9:23 that we must deny ourselves, pick up our cross daily and follow Him. That means, deny who we once were before accepting Christ into our hearts. James also tells us in James 4:4 that if we’re a friend of the world, we are an enemy of God. This means, that we must love what He loves and hate what He hates. We can’t be lukewarm, we can’t compromise our relationship with God and we can’t serve two masters. It’s a choice – to be all in or all out.
So yes, I chose to sell myself out for Christ. I ask Him daily to remove anything that hinders my walk with Him. I ask Him to empty me – the vessel and fill me up with Him so that I may be used for His glory and because I have, He’s faithful at answering those kinds of prayers. I see that the people He has placed in my life see me through His eyes. I see the encounters and divine appointments He’s placed in my path for me to share my story and encourage others through it, I see what He has done in my son. I’m in awe at the wonders of my God!
Therefore, the reason I didn’t fit the mold of the people around me; the reason God pulled me away is because I was created in His image, to fit the mold He designed for my life. There is no place I’d rather be other than where He wants me to go with Him leading the way.
So, if you are on fire for God, don’t let the flame dim. Don’t seek approval from others and don’t let anyone make you feel like you’re weird when you’re exactly who God has called you to be; when you are aligned with His will for your life.
God doesn’t make mistakes. He’s perfect in all His ways. The Lord says in Isaiah 55:89 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways.” Spark that fire He’s placed in you. Seek Him more, talk to Him, desire His presence, and don’t be moved by those who see you as anything less than how God sees you. You’re made in His image; not theirs. He holds your salvation, not them.
Be confident. Be bold. Be vibrant. Be on fire. Press on. Pray. Trust and know that adversity will always meet you when you’re walking closely to the Lord. Therefore; meet adversity with confidence, holding your Sword, the Word of God, worship Him and stand firm on His promises for your life even when it doesn’t seem like they will come to pass. You press on and see for yourself for His Word says Oh taste and see that the Lord is GOOD. Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8.
Be blessed on this Sunday!
In Jesus Name, Amen.
